Willie Humphries, 91, of Freeport, IL, passed away on July 27, 2024 at Ascension Living St. Joseph Village. He was born on May 2, 1933 in Clay County Mississippi, to Grant Humphries, Sr and Ruby Mae Sykes-Humphries. He married Mertle Coffey in 1954, and would later re marry. He was a member of Philippians Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 brothers: Clemet Wayne and Grant Lewis Humphries; 1 sister Samantha Jane Humphries/Johnson, 1 son Edward Floyd Humphries, 2 daughters: Rosie Corbitt and Peggy Samson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024 at 1 PM, with visitation at 12 noon, at Philippians MB Church, 615 S Chicago Ave, in Freeport, IL, with Rev. Nathan Allison officiating. Interment at Freeport City Cemetery.
