Vivian (Viv)
Lee Curley
Mar 14, 1943 — Nov 16, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Vivian Lee Curley announces her passing on November 16, 2021 at the age of 78 years old in Madison Wisconsin.
Vivian (Viv) was born in Savanna, Ill. on March 14, 1943. She married David H Curley on January 23, 1960. She spent her career, in many capacities, working at Atwood/Dura, retiring after 32 years. She was a lifelong resident of Carroll County, spending most of her life living in Mt. Carroll. Vivian and her husband had a passion for travel, often taking weeks-long road trips across the country and many trips abroad. Viv was an avid collector and loved hot air balloons, Garfield, stained glass, and magic. Most of her travels involved some form of these hobbies, from magic conventions and toy conventions to hot air balloon shows and visiting historical sights. She had an affinity for purple, which was clear to anyone that met her, often color-coordinating her outfits from her shoes to her jewelry. Viv loved to stay busy, from making greeting cards, volunteering as a Girl Scouts troop leader when her daughter was young, to being an active member of the Red Hat Society. Vivian was sure to light up any room and cared deeply for her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, David Curley; daughter: Donalee (James) Yenney; grandchildren: Brent (Nia) Yenney, and Ashlee (Chase) Leo; two great grandchildren: Hawk Yenney, and Kinsey Leo; brother: James Jr (LeAnne) Myers; sister-in-law: Carol (Steve) Myers, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughters; Tena Jo Curley and Trisha Ann Curley; brother Steven Myers; and her parents James Sr and Georgia Marian (Pollard) Myers.
At Vivian's request, no service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
