Vincent J. Klekamp, 74, of Freeport, Illinois, passed away on January 15, 2026, along with his beloved wife, Margaret. Born in 1951, Vince was the son of the late Harlan and Lois (Jesse) Klekamp. He grew up in Freeport and was a graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1969. It was in Freeport where he built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a deep devotion to his family. Vince was a well-known face in the community through his long-standing career at United Parcel Service (UPS) where he dedicated 30 years of service before his retirement. His reliability and friendly nature earned him the respect of colleagues and neighbors alike. Vince shared a beautiful life with his wife, Margaret (Bunchman) Klekamp. They were married 52 years. Together they focused their world on their home and their family. He was a devoted father and grandfather, finding great joy in watching his grandchildren grow.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Lesley Klekamp, and his son in law, Tim Miller, his cherished grandchildren: Devin, Drew, and Trinity and great grandchild Kasohnn, his brothers: David (Jennifer) Klekamp and Kenneth (Marilyn) Klekamp, sisters-in-law, Mary (Dwight) O'Keefe and Paula (Robert) Schrader, his many nieces and nephews: Christopher (Brooklyn) Klekamp, Jesse Klekamp, Jack Klekamp, Angela (Adam) Newman, Andrew (Tracey) Gustafson, Abbe (Jeff) Hayner, Amanda (Brennen) Roberts, Patrick (Carol) O'Keefe, Michael (Jasmine) O'Keefe, Daniel O'Keefe, Jennifer( Rob Magary) Bayer, Jesse (Stephanie) Schrader, Julie (Brett) Sparks, and James (Rachel) Schrader.
Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Harlen and Lois, and his wife, Margaret, his sister- in-law and brother- in-law Martha and James Gustafson of Freeport.
Arrangements are being handled by Schwarz Funeral Home in Freeport.
Visitation to be held on Thursday January 29, 2026 from 4pm -6pm at Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel. located at 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport IL. Celebration of Life to take place immediately following visitation at Freeport Country Club, 1614 S. Park Blvd in Freeport IL, from 6pm- 8pm.
