Obituary

Todd Martin Reeser, 60, passed away on April 12, 2026, at Medina Manor Nursing Center in Durand with his loving family by his side. After a long struggle with lung cancer, he is now at peace. He was born on September 29, 1965, in Freeport, IL, the son of the late Alvin L. and Jean (Brandt) Reeser. Todd graduated from Pearl City High School. He was a member and confirmed member at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Todd proudly served in the US Marine Corp from 1984-1988. He was married to Rachel Metz. Todd worked in construction and was a tire builder. He loved fishing and he excelled as an artist in painting. He loved painting fish, frogs, birds, and butterflies. Todd loved being with others and was a great friend to many and will be truly missed. The family thanks the VA and St. Croix Hospice for all their care and love for Todd.

Todd is survived by his mother Jean, stepfather Harold Zimmerman, brothers: Scott (Carolyn) and Rodney; sister, Linda, nieces: Samantha Reeser, Ella Stewart, Elizabeth Reeser, and Jenna (Jesse) Castle; nephews: Nathan Reeser, Clayton Reeser, and Martin Reeser; cousins: Cheryl (Charles) Hunt, Steve (Virginia) Reeser, Marti (Lana) Reeser, Joel (Wanda) Vanderwal, Jolanda (Greg) Taylor, Relinda (Fisher, Renata (Bill) Moyers, Kim (Loren) Walburg, Naomi (Mike) Nyboer, David (Mary) Toepfer, Brian (Judy) Toepfer, Kevin Toepfer, Mark Toepfer, and John Houpt; aunt Renee Vanderwal, and uncle Homer Kohn.

Todd was preceded in death by his father Alvin in 1990, uncles & aunts: LaVerne & Joan Reeser, Don & Joan Reeser, Johannes Vanderwal, Donald Brandt. Margery (Brandt) Kounkel, and Delores (Reeser) Kohn; cousins: Mari Ellen Reeser and Mikey Kohn; grandparents: Morris & Eleanor Brandt, Gladys Reeser, and Rachel (Metz) Reeser.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 16, 2026, at 11 AM, with visitation at 9:30 AM, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2700 W. Stephenson St in Freeport, IL. Pastor Shellie Knight will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service
