Theo Kruse Sandell, 86, of Freeport, IL, passed away on Monday April 10, 2023, at Walnut Acres. He was born on February 15, 1937, in Milledgeville, IL, to Melvin Claire and Esther Bertha (Kruse) Sandell. He married Dianne Kay Anderson on August 8, 1959, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pearl City, IL. He served in the US Navy from 1954-1957. He was retired from Kelly Springfield. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He also volunteered at Highland Community College and Freeport Health Network.

Survivors include his wife Dianne Sandell, 3 children: Dale (Pam) Sandell, Dennis (Monica) Sandell, and Darla Brinkmeier; grandchildren: Carrie (Aaron) Hass, Chad Sandell, Cale (Heather) Sandell, Codi (William) Kempel, Hannah Sandell, Josephine (Andrew) Pickard; and 12 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Myrle McClaffin, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers: Kenneth Sandell, William Sandell, Melvin Sandell; sisters: Betty Temple, Eileen Judas, Phyllis Jean Sandell, and Flora Mae Sandell.

Service will be held on Friday April 14, 2023 at 10:30 AM, at LDS Church, 1716 S. Forest Rd in Freeport, IL, with Bishop Reid officiating. Entombment will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum in Freeport. A memorial has been established in his memory at St. Croix Hospice.
