Sue Jane (Shibley) Hoskinson, 94, of Freeport, IL, passed away on February 11, 2023. She was born on December 2, 1928 in Gorin, MO, the daughter of John E. and Lorena (Melany) Shibley. She graduated from Gorin High School in 1947. She married Paul D. Hoskinson in 1948, and to this union, 6 children were born. Sue and her family moved from Missouri to Lena, IL, and then to Freeport in 1969. She worked at Micro Switch for 20 years, and retired early in 1986. She was an avid Cub fan and enjoyed bus trips with friends and family to their games. She was a member of Faith United Methodist and Mary Circle.

Survivors include her children: Paula Short of Freeport, Steven (Sally) Hoskinson of Rockford, Lorna Howery of McFarland, WI, and Jennifer (Alan) Asche of McFarland, WI; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, son Timothy, daughter Deann Cook, grandsons Bryan, John, and Sloan Hoskinson, grandson Lucas Howery, two brothers: John and George Shibley, and one sister, Betty Jo Banistser.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday February 16, 2023 at 1 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd, in Freeport, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
