Steven Smith, 68, of Rockford, IL, and formerly of Freeport, IL, passed away on January 24, 2023 at OSF St. Anthony in Rockford. He was born on November 20, 1954 in Freeport, to Maurice and Arlith (Siemens) Smith.

He was a graduate of Orangeville High School.

Survivors include 2 sisters: Cheryl Biehl and Debra Smith, both of Freeport; and Mervin Mader of McConnell, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jeff Smith, and sister Linda Mader.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 1 PM, with visitation at 12 noon until time of service, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Pastor Keri Rainsberger will officiate.
