Shirley M. Schuck, 94, of Freeport, IL, passed away at Liberty Village on March 23, 2025. She was born in Freeport, IL, on November 10, 1930, to parents Edward and Mary (Moore) Koch. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1948. She was married at St. Joseph Church in Freeport, IL. on June 17, 1950 to James T. Schuck. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed by Newell Co. for many years, and a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a long standing member of the Marian Society.

Survivors include her children: Mary (Richard) Place of Freeport, IL, Margaret (Kevin) Cliff of Wheaton,  IL, Michael (Lana) Schuck of Freeport, IL, Betty (Stephen) Schmelzle of Freeport, IL, and Judy (Dave) Schopf  of Freeport, IL; 9 grandchildren: Lesley (Matt) Benecke  of Freeport, IL, Jamie (Ryan) Crackenberger of  Pecatonica, IL, Renee (Christopher) Wilhelms  Freeport, IL, Stephany (Ryan) Standley  of Wakefield, MA, Emily (Kristopher) Valkema of  Freeport, IL, Erik Schmelze  of Freeport, IL, Nicholas (Kirsten) Schmelzle  of Indianapolis, IN, Jennifer (Alex) Lau  of Montgomery, IL, and Andrea (Brian) Lucas of Wheaton, IL; 12 Great grandchildren, and 2 Great Great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (July 20, 2015), Son-in-law Edward Crain, and siblings Glen Koch, Allen Koch, Betty (Koch) Matteson, James Koch, and Lawrence Koch.

Services will be on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, officiated by Father Matthew McMorrow.  A rosary will be at 9:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of service.  Internment service will be at the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for St. Joseph Church.
