Sherrie L. Zarndt, 81, of Freeport, IL, passed away on November 17, 2023. She was born on November 3, 1942 in Terre Haute, IN, to Caleb Daniel Conger and Stella M. Banfield. She attended Sullivan High School in Indiana. She married Donald Zarndt in Aurora, IL in 1984. They were married for 19 years before his passing in 2003. She was a bookkeeper for the business that she and Donald built together, called Marathon Trucking Inc.

Her survivors include her children: Carla Leonhard, Paul Miller, Artava Gross, and Richard Elder, Jr; one step-daughter Elizabeth Zarndt, 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Zarndt, and 2 sons: Richard Stanley and William Elder.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday November 26, 2023 at 2 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. Inurnment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin, IL, on Monday November 27 at 12 noon.
