Sarah Ann Heckman, 64, of Lake Carroll, passed away on October 6, 2023, following a brave fight with cancer. She was born on September 24, 1959 in Rochelle, IL, to John Heckman and Lorraine Hinrichs Wiltfang. At a young age, she was a member of the Ogle County 4-H, as her mother was a very involved leader. She enjoyed bowling for many years. She had a love for crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She also had a passion for horses all of her life. She worked as a wonderful waitress for many years throughout her life. She worked at State Farm in Freeport for several years, and also sold real estate. She had a degree in fashion design as well.

She is survived by her partner of 10 years Edward (Bud) Gaulrapp, her three children: Paul (Katie) Terrock of San Lucas, CA, Sarah (Liz) Elizabeth Martin of Freeport, IL, and Callie Martin of Loveland, OH; 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, sisters: Rhonda Byers of Freeport, IL, Donna (LB) Lassiter of Golconda, IL, and Linda (Jerry) Hose of Polo, IL; special cousin Janice Geuther, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her special friends: Susan Paonessa, Patty Carbaugh, Kate Ramsay, Lyn Akerman, and bowling friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and step-father, Merle Wiltfang.

A visitation will be held on Saturday October 14, 2023, from 10 AM - 1 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.

A memorial service will be held on Monday October 16, 2023 at 9:30 AM, at Zion Community Church, 10100 W Sabin Church Rd in Pearl City, IL.

A memorial has been established in her name to Serenity Hospice and Home, 1658 S. IL Rt 2, Oregon, IL, 61061.
