Sandra "Sandy" Mae Smith, 75, of Freeport, IL, passed away on August 2, 2025 at home. She was born on April 21, 1950 in Champaign Urbana, IL, to Calvin Thomas Bridges and Irma Mae Bridges (Trimble). She married Mark Andrew Smith on November 27, 1971 at the Methodist Church in Champaign, IL.

Survivors include her spouse Mark Smith, brother Larry Bridges, sister-in-law Dawn Bridges, son Michael Smith, daughter Lori Smith, grandson Alex Smith, and grandson Erik Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her father Calvin Bridges, mother Irma Bridges (Trimble), brother Thomas Michael Bridges, and sister-in-law Frances Bridges.

Cremation rites have been accorded. In honoring Sandy's wishes, no services will be held.

My loving wife Sandy was my whole world! I knew right from the beginning that she was the one for me and for us. She was caring, thoughtful and loved life, her family and our Lord. She will be missed by all who knew her. This is the hardest thing; however, knowing that she is with my Jesus gives me great comfort.
