Ruth E. Nichols, 82, of Freeport, IL, passed away on July 21, 2020 at Liberty Village in Freeport. She was born on May 8, 1938 in Freeport to Harry Stultz, Sr. and Nancy Dittmar. She attended Freeport High School and on March 16, 1968, married Alvis Nichols. She supervised and setup sponsorship for the Shrine Circus for 20+ years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Freeport. She loved to play bingo with her special friend Barb Betz.

Survivors include her daughter Angella (William Harmon) of Dakota, IL; daughter Abigail (Bob Smith) of Grand Marsh, WI; grandson Taylor Arberry of Dakota, IL; granddaughter Cyrielle Nichols of Grand Marsh, WI; granddaughter Cheyenne Harmon of Sun Prairie, WI; and grandson Bryce Harmon of Freeport, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and brother Harry Stultz, Jr.

There will be a Celebration of Life held a later date.
