After putting this off for months because of inclement winter weather it's time to have a Celebration of Life for Roger Stees.

We are planning on June 3, 2023 at the Reed Park enclosed Pavilion here in Freeport, IL for the celebration of Dad's life, giving everyone involved an opportunity to look ahead in their schedule and plan for this event. Dad liked pizza and so in his honor, we will be serving pizza.

I am stuck on pizza because every time I had Dad out for a doctor's visit, he wanted to stop for pizza. He complained that did not get pizza often enough for his liking at the nursing home. Pizza Hut, Cimino's, Casey's, Pizza Ranch, it did not matter just as long as it was pizza.

Everyone has a unique experience with Dad as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, other family member, or friend and we don't want you to feel unprepared by asking you to remember about Dad at a funeral. We are giving you time to put on your thinking caps and try to remember the good moments you experienced with Dad and then share some of those moments with others who have not seen Dad from your unique personal perspective.

This should be a rewarding celebration for everyone who can make it to this event. We are thinking a noon meal, a time of celebration, and then a trip to Dad's graveside.
