Roberta Miller, age 84, passed away on Friday February 23, 2024, at Lena Living Center, with her family by her side.
Roberta was born September 29, 1939 to the late Roscoe & Alma Reed of Stockton. She attended Stockton High School and graduated in 1957. Roberta and Jerry Miller were united in marriage at the Lena United Methodist Church on July 20, 1958. Jerry and Roberta shared 64 years together until his passing on May 5, 2023. Roberta retired from Newell Window Furnishings after 30 years of employment.
Roberta was a member of the Pearl City United Methodist Church and enjoyed the Church Ladies group. She was an avid reader and puzzler.
Roberta is survived by her children Sandra (John) Gerbode of Sumter, SC; Russell (Susan) Miller of Sugar Grove, IL, Kevin (Connie) Miller of Lena, IL; Robert (Marianne) Miller of Metamora, MI, and Susan Baumgartner of Freeport. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren (soon to be 25) sisters Barbara Haug of Monroe, WI, Jackie Haug of Freeport, IL, sister-in-law Carole Reed of Dubuque, IA; special cousin Larna (Mitch) Corbin of Washington, NC and many nieces and nephews.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law, brother and sister-in-law LaMoine (Rocky) and Judy Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Francis (Bud) Jezbera, son in law Curt Baumgartner, grandson Jason Gerbode, and great grandson Timothy Streit.
The family thanks the Lena Living Center and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion. A special thanks to our Aunt Barb for her many visits and concern for our family. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
Graveside service will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday March 2, 2024 at Lena Burial Park, with a luncheon to follow at Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
