Obituary

Robert "Bob" Dunn, 77 died peacefully Sunday May 15, 2022, many family members by his side. Robert was born October 28, 1944, in the home of his parents Rosemary and Burnell Dunn in Strawberry Point, Iowa. He was the third of eleven children. Robert attended Strawberry Point schools and graduating in 1962. After high school, Robert moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he met and married Shirley Klinger from Dakota, Illinois.

The first two of their five children were born in Cedar Rapids. The family then moved to Freeport, Illinois. Robert spent the remainder of his adult life in Freeport. He was a bricklayer/mason by trade.

Bob is survived by his son Troy, wife Julie and boys Nathan and Alexander, granddaughter Amber Dunn, Amber's daughters Aubree and Kylee, and grandson Shawn Dunn, Shawn's wife Tawney and their son Camden; son Tim, Tim's daughter Elexis and Elexis' son Ashton; Deanna, husband Brian Hildebrand and their daughters Sierra and Madalyn; son Dennis, wife Allyssa, their daughter Melanie and Melanie's sons Matthew and Miller, and sons Mikah, Mason and Maximus; nine brothers and sisters, and their spouse/significant others; scads of nieces and nephews, grand, great, and otherwise; two aunts; and his numerous cousins and countless friends.

He was preceded in death his parents, a brother Tom, and his son Bill.

Bob enjoyed corny jokes that he told repeatedly and laughed uproariously each time. Like many of your masonry projects, Bob, your life and legacy will stand the test of time. Love that smile.

Visitation will be held on Sunday May 22, 2022, from 10 AM – 11:30 AM, at Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. Service from 11:30 AM - 12 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at The Eagles Club, 1200 W. Galena Ave, from 1PM – 4PM. Flannel attire recommended.
