Obituary

On January 27, 2022, Rita George,93, was called to our Holy Father. She was born on March 12, 1928 to Julia and Joseph Rohde. Rita was a graduate of Aquin Catholic High School. She married Kenneth George on September 30, 1950, at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Freeport, II. They
were married 63 years. Rita was a librarian at the Orangeville School District for a number of years. Her favorite part of being a librarian was reading stories to the grade school children. She was also a dairy farmer, home maker and worked at the Freeport Advertiser for several years. Rita enjoyed gardening, painting, drawing and crafting but her greatest joy in life was being a Mom and Grandma.

Rita and Kenneth had five children, Michael George (Debi) of Effingham,ll, Debra Pearson (Tom) of Rockford, II, Patrick George (Lizetta) of Lena,ll, Matthew George (Kathy) of Freeport, II, Nanette Kuhn (Keith) of Freeport, II. Rita and Ken had ten grandchildren, Nicholas George, Angela Schindler, Andrew Pearson, Brandon George, Amanda George, Emily George, Jacob George, Liam Kuhn, Aiden Kuhn, Colin Kuhn and one great grandson, Mason Schindler.

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth George, parents Joseph and Julia Rohde, sisters Dorthy Johnson and Judith Vogt.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 3rd at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd, Freeport. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday February 4th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Freeport, with Father Timothy Barr officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

She is loved and missed by all of her family. A memorial has been established in her memory.
