Richard T. Staas, Sr, 84, of Freeport, IL, passed away on September 9, 2024. He was born on February 23, 1940 in Freeport, to Robert H. Staas and Belva Mae (Weiler) Staas. He married Marilee Glenn on May 25, 1974 in McConnell, IL. He worked at Modern Plating for 41 years and was a member of The Bridge Church in Freeport.

Survivors include his son Richard T. Staas, son Mitchell G. (Kelly) Staas, grandchildren: Piper & Lucy Staas and Max & Raegan Staas; sister Judy Paluzzi, brother-in-law Bill Hammond, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Belva Staas, wife Marilee Staas, brother Roger Staas, sisters: Janice Hammond, Julie (Mike) Coakley, and Juanita (Blannie) Perkins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024 at 12 noon, at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
