Richard Joe Newman, 77, of Orangeville, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2020 after a battle of cancer. He was born on November 10, 1943 to Robert P Newman and Betty Murphy of Richmond, Indiana. He served 6 years in the U.S Navy as a boatswains mate, was a talented artist and a skilled auto body man, a loving father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Newman and Betty Murphy Young, Sister; Marsha Mt Castle, Brothers; Danny Newman, Robert Newman Jr, Darrel Brooks, Neil Brooks & Carl Newman.

He is survived by his ex-wife Bessie Newman Olsen, daughters; Deborah Hansen(Danny)of Virginia, Ellen Buzza(Rick)of Illinois, Denise Melendez(Julio) of Wisconsin and son Richard Newman(Jetta) of Wisconsin. Brothers; Harold Newman of Indiana, Edward Newman of Indiana, David Newman of Florida; Sisters: Sandra Hopf of Ohio, Sharon Reece of Florida, Sylvia Warrick of Indiana, Debbie Hatton of Ohio, Rebecca Purkey of Ohio, Pamela Bowman of Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of niece and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held in Indiana at a later date. I lieu of flowers, you can donate in memory to the Veteran's Administration or Cancer Research. His dream was to ride down Route 66, his children will be filling that dream.
