Richard Kerr, 92, of Freeport, IL, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2021 at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on August 16, 1928 at St. Francis Hospital in Freeport, to Karl, Sr. and Florence (Herbig) Kerr. He served in the Army and on November 18, 1950, he married Janice Rosenwinge at the First Lutheran Church in Freeport. He was a mechanic for Marcasi, IHMS, and the City of Freeport.

Survivors include his 7 children: Jim (Lisa) Kerr of Freeport, Don (Cindy) Kerr of Minooka, IL, Kathy (Don) Carpenter of Browntown, WI, Ann Plum of Freeport, Sue (Steve) Hubb of Freeport, Deb (fiancé Mark Smith) Thruman of Alabama, and Billy Kerr of Freeport; 21 grandkids, 47 great-grandkids, and 3 great-great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Alex and Edna Cannova, brother Karl (Ethel) Jr, sister Ardella (Kenny) Rotmeier, 2 grandkids, and 1 great-grandchild.
