Richard Dale "Bubber" Herold, 42, of Freeport, IL, passed away on February 15, 2021 at home. He was born on March 7, 1979 to Dean Rudlang and Tamay Jo Bonnell. He was a graduate of Freeport High School. He worked as a machine operator. Richard was a kindhearted, loving, giving, and caring person. He loved to make people laugh and had a great sense of humor. His laugh is not one to be easily forgotten because it was so infectious. He was a great father and loved his children with all his heart. They were the highlight of his life, and he was very proud of them. He loved all his family and friends very much. We will all have a lifetime of good memories of him. Some of the things he loved the most were the Chicago Bears, cooking, watching cooking shows and UFC fights, his pets, and attending sporting events, especially with his children. He will be remembered by everyone for many of the same beautiful things about his personality and the personal memories that we each have and will be cherished forever. We thank you all for having a part and sharing in Richard's life.

Survivors include his mother Tamay Jo Bonnell, father Dean Rudlang, daughter Lilly Herold, son Payton Herold, brother Lawrence Larsen, sister Samantha Larsen, nephews: Lawrence Larsen Jr, Trey Larsen, Cameron Larsen, Anthony Larsen, and Leonel Amaya-Murcia Jr; nieces: Natalynne Larsen, Kendra Amaya-Murcia, and Kiara Amaya-Murcia; uncles: Rick Bonnell and James Herold Jr; aunt and uncle Teresa and Kenneth Felton Sr, aunts: KayLynn Velazquez, Jamie Carey, Lisa Ottenhausen, and Tina Hendrickson.

Survivors (fathers side): grandmother Gloria Stewart, uncles: Dale Rudlang and Dan Rudlang; aunt Dureen Hopkins, and cousin Renee Gilson (Chris).

Surviving cousins: Cory Mathews (Nicole), Justin Mathews (Heather), Amanda Mathews, Kenny Felton Jr, Antalon Felton (Brianna), Arquette Felton (Stephanie), Jessica Carey, Patricia Jaglinski (John), Brandon Herold, Heidi Ottenhausen (Marcus Evans), Kathrine Ottenhausen (Rickey Graff), Kevin Markwardt (Kendall), Jessie Herold, Sadie Herold, Tasha Marini (Matt), cousin and best friend Chad Broshous, and many more family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ronald L. Bonnell, grandmother Letha Herold, grandfather James Herold Sr, grandfather Harold (Sunny) Rudlang, nephews Gabriel Larsen and Tyson Larsen, and 1 ^st cousin Angela Carey.

Richard did not pass alone. He had his beloved rottweiler (Pico) by his side.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held on Sunday February 28, 2021, from 2PM to 4PM, with a private service at 1 PM until time of visitation, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. A luncheon will be held following the visitation (location to be announced).
