Richard E. Aeling, 58, of Freeport, IL, passed away on Wednesday September 10, 2025 at his home following an illness. He was born on December 29, 1966 to Richard A. Aeling and Diana (Schlamp) Ditsworth (Jim). Rich was a welder / fabricator by trade and held various jobs over many years. He was a huge animal lover and will deeply missed by many.

Rich is survived by his mother Diana and stepfather Jim Ditsworth of Freeport, one sister, Tammy (Rick) Shenberger of Freeport, and stepsisters: Pamela Jensen and Susan (Andrew) Dvorak, both of Freeport.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, brother Duane Aeling, and stepbrother Donald Ditsworth.

I honoring his wishes, no services will be held. Cremation rites have been accorded.
