Reginald Vernal Cross, 71, of Freeport, IL, passed away January 18, 2022 at FHN. He was born March 19, 1950 in Freeport to Charles Cross and Audrey Finkston. He worked at Thermos for 12 years and AutoZone.

Survivors include his children: Maurice (Melody) Cross, Takyscha Cross, Robert (Gretchen) Cross, Mark Spaulding, and Audra Johnson Spaulding; siblings: Marilyn Bush, Rose Mary Walton, brother Charles Vernal Cross II, Brodie Cross, Armentha Cross Ross, Dorothy Cross Straughter, and Dania Cross; grandchildren: Trevond Cronau – Cross, Jevontay Cross, Kelsey Lewis, Ivory Cross, Capri Little, Deoshay Cross, Aiden and Aidrick Cross; great-grandchildren: Zakiyyah, Kezzianna, Dakari, Milliana and NiCaeh; nephews and nieces, ex-wife Katie Johnson Cross, and special friend Jacky Williams.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Clara Hunter, father Charles Cross, mother Audrey Hunter Finkston, and brother Aubrey Finkston.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 11 AM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. Saudargas Beasley and Rev. Charles Threadgill will officiate. Inurnment in Freeport City Cemetery.
