Rebecca Appelman, 71, of Freeport, IL, passed away on May 8, 2024 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 29, 1952 in Monroe, WI, to Robert Augsburger and Shirley (Reeser) Augsburger. She married Thomas Appelman on September 26, 1981 in Our Savior Lutheran Church in Freeport. She was a daycare provider and a member of the Church of the brethren in Freeport.

Survivors include her children: Eric Barton (Stephanie), Heidi Kaiser (Daymen), and David Appelman (Ana), brothers: Fred Augsburger and Dean Augsburger (Jessie), grandchildren: Collin, Kylie Kaiser, Briannah Barton, Abby Ihus, Dakota Ihus, Kayden Barton, Eden Mendez, and Benji Appelman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Appelman, and parents Robert and Shirley Augsburger.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 22, 2024 at 11 AM, with visitation at 10 AM, at the Church of the Brethren, 777 W. Pleasant St, in Freeport, IL. A luncheon will follow.
