Ransom L. Sargent, 91, went to heaven on May 7, 2020. Born on January 8, 1929, he was the son of Robert and Lucille (Whitmer) Sargent. Ransom married Berniece Moist (Dascher) on January 9, 1960. He was employed by Thermos (Structo) in Freeport, IL for 27 years. Ransom enjoyed going camping, restoring the 55' Chevy Bel Air, working in the yard, and going on car rides.

He is survived by his children: Barbara Jean Thornhill of Mt. Carroll, IL, Phyllis Zink of Mt. Carroll, IL, Robert (Barbie) Sargent of Lanark, IL, Debra Sargent of Freeport, IL; 4 step-children, 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Morris (Pat) Sargent of Windsor, CO, and Wendall Sargent of Streator, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Berniece E. Sargent, and his sister Virginia Sargent.
