Randall (Bud) Bonnell, age 71, of Mt. Carroll, IL died on Monday, November 6, 2023 at home with family. Randy was born July 23, 1952 in Freeport, IL, the son of Raymond and Marliss (Applegate) Bonnell. He married Carole (Mueller) on September 7, 1985 and gained a daughter Michelle (Griffin) Camacho. Later he became a grandfather to Zachary Adams and Emma (Peaches) Masters. After Carole passed, he married Susan Fritz on June 29, 2019.

Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering and above all his family. He was always checking on them, keeping up with their lives and adventures. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Family get togethers agitating anyone and everyone made his day. He never knew a stranger and loved talking to children. He did some farming in his younger days and worked at Plasters and Cement Masons, Local 11 for many years. After he retired, he worked at Ivey Monument part time. He loved watching Discovery Channel and History Channel, old cowboy shows and movies and The Curse of Oak Island show.

Survived by his Wife Susan Fritz, Daughter Michelle (Dean) Camacho, Machesney Park, IL, Step Daughters: Michelle (Joe Grim) Fossett, Lee, IL, Angela (Mike) Curtis, Lebanon, IL, Cheryl (Thad) Knirlberger, Ottawa, IL, and Tiffany Frederick, Dubuque, IA; Siblings: Rita Davis, Cranfills Gap, TX, Michael Bonnell, Forreston, IL, and Elaine (Randy) Geerts, German Valley, IL; 2 Grandchildren, 9 Step Grandchildren, 4 Step Great Grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Wife, Carole (Mueller) Bonnell, Mother, Marliss Bonnell and Father, Raymond Bonnell.

Visitation will be from 5 pm - 7 pm on Friday November 10, 2023, at the Russell-Frank Funeral Home, 111 N. High St in Lanark, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday November 11, 2023, also at the Russell-Frank Funeral Home, with Reverend Robert Phelps officiating. Interment at Highland Cemetery in Pearl City, IL.
