Phyllis A. Weigel, 95, of Freeport, IL, passed away on June 10, 2025. She was born on May 20, 1930 in Freeport, to George and Hazel (Wallick) Johnson. She married Lawrence Weigel on July 4, 1951.

Phyllis's greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she mostly loved occasional family vacations. She loved to play cards, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers, and Aquin Bulldogs.

Survivors include her children: Stephen (Carolyn Sluiter) Weigel, Janet (Michael Wilson) Weigel, Debra (Robert) Lameyer, Jeff Weigel, Joseph (Marcia) Weigel, and Mark (Jill) Weigel; grandchildren: Rob Lameyer, Ken (Stacey) Lameyer, Allison (Nick Berry) Weigel, Peter (Monica) Weigel, Lena Weigel, and Seideuk Weigel; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Berry, Arthur Berry, Austin Lameyer, and Paisley Lameyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Donald Johnson, Dale Johnson, and George Johnson, Jr; sisters: Shirley Elsworth and Juanita Tobler, great-grandson Jordan Lameyer, and Kim Kent.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
