Phyllis Althafer, 93, of Lena, IL and formerly of Warren, IL, passed away on December 13, 2021, at Lena Living Center. She was born on November 24, 1928, in Galena, IL, to Sherman and Marguerite (Girot) Petit. She married Kenneth Kampmeier, who preceded her in death, and later Keith Althafer. She was a member of Hanover Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son Mike Kampmeier, daughter Patty (Ron) Stamm, stepchildren: Kim (Terry) Schubert, Kevin (Michelle) Althafer, Kelly (Ray) Hunt, Mark Althafer, Maureen (Brian) Maloy, Matt (Marinella) Althafer; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Kampmeier, daughter Mary Anne Kampmeier, grandson Michael John Gothard, and stepdaughters: Kay Gipe and Laura Kiesel. Husband Keith Althafer would follow her in passing on February 5, 2022.

The family invites you to a joint visitation and service for Phyllis and her husband Keith (who recently passed away) from 4-6 pm on Friday February 11, 2022, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd. in Freeport. A service will follow at 6 PM, with Wayne Fischer officiating.
