March 29, 1967 - July 28, 2025 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Pamela Ann Norsworthy on July 28, 2025, at the age of 58. Pam was born on March 29, 1967, and raised in the Western suburbs of Chicago, IL, by her mother, Martha Jean Simon and step-dad, Larry Simon. Pam was a cherished daughter, sister, parent, grandparent, and a dear friend to many. Those who knew her casually will remember her commanding 6-foot stature, beautiful thick auburn hair, and infectious laugh. Pam was often described as a social chameleon, effortlessly adapting to any situation. For those who knew her intimately, Pam's most outstanding quality was her ability to adjust her behavior, mannerisms, and communication style to connect with diverse social groups. Her remarkable resilience was another notable trait; despite numerous challenges, Pam was a survivor with a knack for making circumstances work in her favor. Pam had a great love for dancing. As a teenager, one of her favorite pastimes was taking the Burlington Northern commuter train from Downers Grove to downtown Chicago, heading straight to the upstairs lounge at Ronny's Steakhouse. There, she would perform her signature "snake" dance to her favorite 80s jams, such as "White Horse" by Laid Back and "Juicy Fruit" by Mtume. Pamela's greatest joys were her grandchildren and pets. She will be remembered for her sharp observational skills, which she used to tell masterful stories. Conversations with Pam were never short; she would meticulously share background details, captivating listeners for hours. Pamela explored various jobs before finding her calling in customer service. Her exceptional interpersonal, listening, observational, and investigational skills, combined with her calming voice and infectious laugh, made her a perfect fit for the field. She dedicated decades to this work, most recently as a Customer Service Representative for Saks Fifth Avenue.

Pamela Ann Norsworthy is survived by her four children: Michael D. Norsworthy (Chandra Pearson), Chantal Johnson (her two children), Jazmon C. Norsworthy (her five children), and Johvaun D. Mays (his three children), totaling ten grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Tasha Simon (her two children), special friends Penny Sullivan and Terri Spearman, and a host of friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Jean Simon (Larry Simon), and her brother, Brian Simon (Porschae Pougue). Pamela and her entire family extend a special debt of gratitude to Penny Sullivan, a caregiver who ultimately became a cherished friend.

A memorial service to celebrate Pamela's life will be held at Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, on Sunday August 31, 2025, from 6 pm to 8 pm, with visitation at 4 PM until time of service.
