Norman J. Ernst, 85, of Freeport, IL, passed away February 13, 2022. She was born May 1, 1936, in Freeport, to Clarence and Binnie (Williams) Holbert. She graduated from Freeport High School and would later marry Phillip I. Ernst. She worked as an office manager, sold Mary Kay Cosmetics, and worked for a phone company. Norma enjoyed fishing and their ranch south of Stockton, enjoyed being around family and friends, and enjoyed having holiday parties.

Survivors include her son Todd Ernst, daughter Georgina Ernst, six grandkids, and 14 great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Ernst, daughter Deborah Arnold, mom Binnie Holbert, dad Clarence Holbert, 2 brothers: Jim Holbert and Clarence Holbert; 3 sisters: Bernice Cali, Matilda Klosa, and Marian Richart.

A funeral service will be held on Friday February 18, 2022, at 1:30 PM, at Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 17, 2022, from 5-7 PM, also at Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel. Interment in Grandview Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
