Nancy Lee Harrington age 72 of Freeport, IL. Left to be with her Lord Savior on Monday August 25th 2025 in Madison Wisconsin, surrounded by family. Nancy was born on February 28th 1953 to Robert Sr and Donna (Debore) Maurer. She married Robert Harrington Sr. on November 22nd 1969. Nancy was a graduate of Highland Community College in Cosmetology and Nursing. She owned her own salon in her home for many years. She was a handicapped school bus driver for the Freeport School Dist and later went off to own Freeport Taxi company. She was also an over the road semi truck driver for Ashe before she retired. Anyone that knew her loved her. She always had a hug and an I love you to everyone she knew. She could brighten every day just by being there. She loved her family more than anything. You never left her presence feeling anything but loved. Her smile was infectious. She will truly be missed. The Lord gained a true Earth Angel. Nancy was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, partner and dear friend by so many people.
Nancy Harrington is survived by her daughters Nanci and Steve Gregory of Seminole, Fl. Tammy (Donnie Reed) Herbig of Red Oak, IL. Tara (Brandon Barragan) Harrington of Freeport, IL. Significant others Greg Reed and her beloved dog Squeak, Sister's Peggy Castle, Wendy Maurer and Wendy Wilson. Cousin Randy and Carmen Maurer- and Gabriela. Granddaughters- Alexandra and Elliot Sommers, Gabriella and Hunter Deal, Lindsay and Joseph Edwards, Hannah Herbig, Raven Harrington and Samantha (Chris) Gonzalez, Grandsons- Scott and Paulina Lewis, Zakary Hoppe, Steven and Brittany Barragan, Chase Barragan, Caden Barragan, Oden Harrington and Dante Harrington. Great Granddaughters- Nicole, Berlyn, Fable, Brooklyn, Charlotte and Aurora. Great Grandsons- Mason, Dixon, Beau Wyatt, Caleb, Remy, Harlow and Damon. Nieces- Carman and Troy Greenwold, Melissa Maurer, Donna Wilson, Nicole Willson, Nephews- Robert and Angela Maurie III, Mike and Lacie Maurer, Jordon (Erin Brazel) Frohn, Derek Frohn, Reese (Allison Laymeyer) Frohn, Carson Frohn, Brandon Charles Wilson and Nathaniel Wilson. Great-Nieces Amelia, Mia, Rylynn, Aleah, Aftyn and Aaron Rufledt, Kylea (Logan) Maurer, Annabelle, Hailey, Shay, Shyann, Hailey, Nya, Arial and Nakeyla. Great-Nephews Charles, Granger, Dylan, Wyatt, Ethan Jr. Extended family- Stacy Valdez, Suzanne (Ed Baker Jr) Lewis, Brian Reed, Daniel, Yolanda, Alex, Naima, August and Destiny.
Nancy was preceded in death by her Husband Robert (Bob) Harrington Sr., Father Robert Maurer Sr., Mother Donna (DeBoer) Wilson, Brothers Robert (Bob) Maurer Jr. and Charles (Chuck) Castle and Son Robert Harrington Jr.
Visitation will be on Saturday September 13th from 1pm to 3pm, with a Memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life and luncheon to follow, at Schwarz Park Blvd chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. 61032
Cremation and burial will be held at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport
