Nancy passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 6th, 2022, at Walnut Acres Nursing Home in Freeport, IL. Nancy was born on November 4th, 1949, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI to her parents, Eugene Deegan & Wilma (Webb-Deegan) Holladay. Nancy attended the Wisconsin School for the Visually Handicapped in Janesville. Nancy attended and received her bachelor's degree with Honors from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI. She enjoyed teaching knitting to the visually impaired, singing and playing musical instruments for family and friend's weddings.

Nancy is survived by her three Sisters: Lynn (Mike) Doyle, Georgia Ward (Dennis Wolf) & Vivian (Bill) Schmelzer; Nieces & Nephews: Angie (Mike), Brian, Todd (Ranee), Jason (Raquel), Eric (Teri), Jackie (Adam), and Nicole (Darnell); Great Nieces & Nephews: Amanda (Kevin), Chelsey (Meechie), Alexis (Matt), Jada (Amanda), Remy, Shea, Riley, Hayden, Benn, Maddux, and Jack & Aleah; Great-Great Nephew & Niece: Trayvion & Rozlyn, and Nancy's partner & companion Dale Svehlek.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Eugene Deegan & Wilma (Webb- Deegan) Holladay, Stepmother Delores Deegan, Stepfather Howard (Rosey) Holladay, Her beloved husband Gary Czubin, Brother-ln-Law Frank Ward, Grandparents on both sides, and many Aunts and Uncles.

Our beloved, amazing sister Nancy from the day she arrived on earth was a fighter. She knew life would be challenging. She had so much to overcome being born visually handicapped. It did not stop her from trying and doing everything she loved. From downhill skiing to hiking with her wonderful husband Gary. Nancy loved music. It gave her comfort and joy. She enjoyed attending music festivals, camping with friends, and taking in all the festivities of the day. Nancy was truly gifted. There wasn't a musical instrument she couldn't play. If she heard a song she loved, she'd practice till she mastered it. Nancy would write music on her keyboard that Gary had hooked up to her computer. She would than listen to it and make changes as she perfected the song.

Nancy decided she wanted to be a Social Worker to help others. She and her seeing eye dog Dodie enrolled in Mount Mary College where she graduated with Honors. She with her honor ribbons on and Dodie by her side proudly walked the stage at Graduation. Nancy was an amazing knitter. She won many contests with the designs she submitted. She also taught those who had or were in the process of losing their sight to knit. It was a way to help these individuals transition to a new form of life. She was very compassionate. Nancy did not let her disability define her. She knew if she wanted something, she could achieve it with hard work. She lived on her own for many years, cooking, cleaning, doing everything the sighted world takes for granted. She never complained about not being able to see. We as her sisters learned at a very young age how special she was. We will miss her dearly...her smile, her wit, her confidence, her strong will, and most of all her Love.

Nancy requested no funeral. The immediate family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
