Michael W. Stodden, 74, of Freeport, IL, passed away on July 22, 2023 at Medina Nursing Home in Durand. He was born on October 22, 1948 in Hazel Green, WI, to Kenneth and June (Hecklesmiller) Maiden, and later raised by Bernard and Deloris (Hecklesmiller) Stodden . He was a 1966 graduate of Freeport High School. He married Catherine Thruman on June 15, 1968 at St. Thomas Church in Freeport Il. He was a Supervisor for 31 years at Kelly Springfield Tire Co and later a consultant for Titan Tire and a member of Park Hills Church. He was a vietnam veteran and served for 4 years and honorably discharged from US Army.

Survivors include his wife Catherine, children: son David (Andrea) of Freeport, IL, son Thomas (Dana) of Clinton, IA, son Scott of Freeport, IL, and daughter Cynthia of Freeport, IL; brother Tim Maiden, sister Cheryl Maiden, sister Janet Arnold of Eleroy, IL, grandchildren: Reagan and Kendall Stodden of Freeport, IL, Dakodah Mrkvicka Poplar Grove Il., Eastin Stodden, Guy (Hannah) and Alison Edfors all of Clinton, IA; nephews: Donald, Kevin, Brian, Michael, and Daniel Arnold.

He was preceded in death by both sets of parents, brother Gary Maiden and brother-in-law Donald Arnold.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday July 29, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Park Hills Church in Freeport, with Pastor Chris Stukenberg officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday July 28, 2023 from 4PM - 7PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial has been established.
