Michael A. Gates, 67, of Freeport, IL, passed away at home on June 24, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1958 in Freeport, to Ronald and Linda (Senneff) Gates. He was a 1976 graduate of Freeport High School. He worked construction all of his life.

Survivors include his sister Dianne-Gates Velasquez, and daughters: Nichole (Gates) Smith and Amanda Gates. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Gates and his mother Linda (Senneff) Gates.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held. Interment of cremains will be at Chadwick Cemetery in Chadwick, IL.
