Mary K. (Schuck) Place, 75, of Freeport, IL, passed away on September 7, 2026 at Liberty Village. She was born on November 15, 1950 in Freeport, to parents James and Shirley (Koch) Schuck. She was a 1968 graduate of Freeport Aquin High School. She married Richard Place on June 7, 1969 at St. Joe’s Church, where she would remain a member.

Survivors include her husband Richard Place, daughters: Lesley (Matt) Benecke, Jamie (Ryan) Crackenberger, and Renee (Chris) Wilhelms; grand kids: Kara Place (Emmett Stimpert), Brandon Wilhelms (Desiree Fulton), Leah Wilhelms, Olivia Wilhelms, Nolan Benecke; and great-grand kids: Willow Wilhelms, and Ivy Stimpert.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday September 10, 2026, from 3 PM - 5 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport. Cremation rites have been accorded.
