Mary Jane Leeman, "Jane", 93, passed away on April 26, 2023 at Parkview Home in Freeport, IL. She was born on October 30, 1929 at St. Francis Hospital in Freeport, to William and Clara (Scheidt) Schadle. She graduated from Freeport Aquin High School in 1947. She married William Leeman on April 3, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1981. She would later marry Merrill Artman on October 6, 1984. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1987. She worked at Micro Switch for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport for 93 years. Organizations included St. Joseph/Provena Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and several bicycle clubs.

Survivors include Rick (Karen) Leeman of Deer Creek, IL, Pat (Brian) Maurer of Lena, IL, Lorna Werkheiser of Fitchburg, WI, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both spouses, her sisters: Anna Mae (Art) Cramer, Margaret (Gerald) Boekholder, Genevieve (Jake) May, Frankie (Jack) Nichol and her twin Mary Joan (Gene) Taylor.

Jane enjoyed life to the fullest. She traveled extensively, and especially enjoyed her mystery trips and visiting her grandchildren.

Her family would like to thank all the staff in all departments at Parkview for their exceptional care over the last 11 years. Also, many thanks to Unity Hospice for their gentle loving care during the last 2 weeks of her life.

A memorial service will be held on Friday May 5, 2023 at 11 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport. Friends may call at the church at 10:30 AM until time of service. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
