Mary Lou Bower, 93, of Freeport, IL, passed away on August 5, 2020 at Walnut Acres. She was born on May 14, 1927 in Mt. Carroll, IL to William and Marjorie (Eaton) Raab. She married LeRoy A. Bower on December 8, 1946. She was a member of Cedarville Baptist Church. Mary Lou enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed bingo, crocheting, word searches, gambling, dancing, and country music. Enjoying a good piece of chocolate was one of her favorite things as well.

Survivors include her 3 children: Craig (Marjorie) Bower of Freeport, IL, Wendy (Paul) Saavedra of Lena, IL, and Jeffrey (Gerry Lou) Bower of Freeport, IL; 10 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way, and 1 brother: Millard of Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Alvin Bower, 6 brothers and 7 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2020 at 11 AM, with visitation from 9:30 AM until time of service, at Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd. in Freeport, IL. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
