Marlene J. Knapp, 87, of Freeport, IL, went peacefully to be with the lord with family around her on March 13, 2023. She was born on October 13, 1935 in Rock City, IL, to Fred and Vera (Zimmerman) Kloepping. She married Donald Kubatzke in the mid 50's, then married Wallace "Butch" Knapp on June 28, 1998. Occupations included Crum & Forster, helping first husband with Kubatzke Trucking, worked at Donuts Plus, then her and Butch opened up Butch and Mar's Donut Delite. She liked going riding on the motorcycle, going to the casino, and reading her bible. She also enjoyed being with family and friends, and spending time with her cat Baby. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her three children: Kevin (Terri) Kubatzke, Karen Wittbecker of Freeport, and Keith Kubatzke of Rockford; three step-children: Lori (Cyril) Radwin of Michigan, Kathy (Christopher) Steele of Missouri, and Kristi (Robert) Maki of Michigan; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 1 great-great-grandchild on the way, step-great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, baby sister, and husbands Donald Kubatzke and Wallace Knapp.

The family would like to thank ProMedica Hospice for their professionalism and the awesome care they gave her.

Funeral service will be held on Monday March 20, 2023 at 2 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of service. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
