Mark W. May of Freeport, passed away November 13, 2024 with family by his side. He was born April 9, 1960, the son of Dean and Joyce (Loring) May. Mark was employed at Thermos Co. and later at H.B. Plastics and resided in Freeport, IL.

Music played an integral part of his life from childhood on. Mark and his twin brother, Mike, formed the popular band Transit. Mark excelled as the talented drummer of Transit.

He touched many lives and will be forever remembered by his family and close friends. Survivors include his son Ryan May; Granddaughters: Gabriela, Elliana, Bella, Kylie, and Brookyln; his sister Christy (Darryl) Pehl; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Marcy Potempa, twin brother Michael May, parents Dean and Joyce May, and most recently his oldest brother Thomas May.

A joint Celebration of Life for Tom and Mark will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025 at 2 PM, at the Freeport Moose Lodge, 440 Challenge St, Freeport, IL.
