Margaret Mary Leary, 67, of Freeport, IL, passed away April 11, 2022, peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born October 15, 1954, in Pottsville, PA, to Edward Francis Leary and Agnes Dolores (Versavage) Leary. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. She worked as a travel agent and was a member of St. John of the Cross, Western Springs, and a new member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Freeport.

Survivors include her sisters: Kathryn Schau, Ellen Leary, and Anne Leary; brother-in-law Frederick Schau, 2 nieces, 6 nephews, 9 great-nieces, 6 great-nephews, Aunt Joan Versavage, and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Agnes Leary, grandparents: Catherine and Andrew Versavage, and Thomas and Bridget Leary; aunts: Catherine Haywood, Alma Versavage, Sister M. Andrea M.S.C., Ann Erony, and Ann Leary; uncles: Andrew Versavage, Martin Erony, Thomas Leary, and Joseph Leary.

A memorial service will be held on Monday April 18, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Freeport. Inurnment in Hart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to rescue.org
