Margaret Auman, 100, of Freeport, IL, passed away on August 21, 2023 at Liberty Village. She was born in Oldenburg, Germany on May 16, 1923, to George and Lilly (Meyer) Backenkeller.

Survivors include her daughter Ginger (Dale) Rowe, 4 grandchildren: Cindy (Greg) Bessert, Tim (Margie) Auman, Nick (Kym) Rowe, and Dan (Jennie) Rowe; 8 great-grandchildren: Josh, Amanda, Brittany, Brandon, Justus, Morgan, Marley, and Jordan; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Eileen Auman, 2 brothers: John and Richard Backenkeller.

A private family service and burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
