Marcia J. Babb, 78, of Freeport, IL, passed away on July 15, 2021. She was born on June 17, 1943 in Freeport to Virl R. and Jane E. (Yount) Babb. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1963. Marcia worked at Burgess Battery and Honeywell for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed bingo, volunteering, and visiting family and friends.

At age 22, Marcia and her older brother, Ward 23, raised their 4 younger sisters ages 4 through 13, when both of their parents died.

Survivors include her brother, David (Peg) Babb of Rockford, IL; Sisters: Sandra (Dale) Sargent of Lena, Karen Morton and Pam Anderson of Freeport; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ward, sister Mary, and brother-in-law Andrew Anderson.

Private family services will be held.
