Obituary

Louise Ann Crase, 73, of Freeport, IL, suddenly passed away at home on April 5, 2021. Born June 30, 1947 to Murel Eichmeier and Joyce Martin. At the age of 6, her grandparents (William S. Eichmeier and Josephine "Shiley" Eichmeier) began to raise her. Louise was 1 of the first two women in the state of Illinois to have an AAU Boxing Judges License. Louise was a very loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, sister, and aunt, but most of all an amazing friend. Louise worked doing private duty nursing and then became a Homemaker for the Dept. of Children Family Services for 22 years where during that time, she gained many special friendships. She was a member of Freeport Moose Lodge for many years. On January 16, 1968, she married Donald Neff Sr, and together they shared two sons, Donald Neff Jr (Alma) and David Neff (Nancy). Louise cherished her sons entirely, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her dog Gracie, and cat Mom Kitty. Later on Louise married the love of her life, soulmate, but most of all best friend, Dennis (Buck) Crase on February 13, 1999. Together they shared (Buck's) son Jason (Kim) Lamm and loved him as her own. Louise was a very intelligent, smart, funny, caring, and outgoing person….her family will miss her dearly.

Louise leaves to cherish her two sons, Donald (Alma) Neff Jr and David (Nancy) Neff of Freeport, stepson Jason (Kim) Lamm, 3 grandchildren: Maranda (Chris) Ellis, Jessica (Stephen) Neff, and Katlyn Neff; 5 great-grandchildren: Juleigha Farringer, Christi'anna, Lei'Ailah, and Ty'Leeyah Ellis, and Natalee Herrmann; her brother Herman (Teresa) Eichmeier), and special nieces Rachel and Rayvin Eichmeier, one nephew Justin Reed, her sisters: Karen Johnson of Springfield, IL and Christy Kenny of Mendota, IL; and many adopted grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and both husbands.
