Lisa Faye
Miller
Aug 10, 1955 — Sep 9, 2024
Lisa Faye Miller, 69, of Baileyville, IL, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024, at home, after a brave battle against cancer. Her husband, Steven Leroy Miller, whom she married on April 8, 1978, and several family members were by her side.
Lisa was born August 10, 1955, in Freeport, IL to Virginia (Abels) and Leroy Grande. She graduated from Forreston High School and earned a degree in applied science from Highland Community College. She began her career as a secretary for Economy Insurance Company, later worked for the Highland Community College GED program, and finally as a facilitator at Sauer Danfoss. Her proudest and most treasured role, however, was as a stay-at-home mom to her four children.
Lisa was a skilled gardener and a amazing cook. She was very creative and enjoyed making jewelry and crafts of all kinds. An avid reader, Lisa especially loved mystery stories. She also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Montana and several other western states. She was always on the go with one thing or another, but her favorite thing to do was always anything she could do with family and friends.
Lisa loved being a grandmother and delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. She adored reading to them when they were little, playing games, watching movies, binge watching TV shows, or whatever they wanted to do. She never got tired of being with them and creating fun memories together. Lisa played a huge part in helping her grandchildren grow into the wonderful young people they are today; Others would even refer to her as their second mom. Lisa will long be remembered for her love of family, boundless energy, beautiful personality, generous nature, strong faith and endless joy.
Lisa is survived by her husband Steve, her children: David (Elena) Miller of Freeport, IL, and Caitlin Miller of Baileyville, IL; sister, Gina (Scott) Sallstrom of Madison, WI; grandchildren: Maxx Miller of Freeport, IL, Ellie Hollister of Black Earth, WI, and Emmalee Miller of Baileyville, IL; and many cousins and second cousins around the US.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Leroy Grande, and children, Cameron and Carrie Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 28, 2024, from 12 noon - 2 PM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
