Laura Ann (Ceroni) McCabe, 55, of Freeport, IL entered into Glory December 5 th , 2020 after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born March 9 th , 1965 to Leroy L. Ceroni and Joan (Murray) Ceroni of Ridott, IL. She was a graduate from Dakota High School. She held various office positions throughout her life. For a large portion of her life she resided in Platteville, WI where she made many lifelong friendships. Her friends were exceedingly supportive throughout her life as well as in her illness.
Laura loved being active and having fun playing golf, running and rooting on her favorite football teams the Green bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Anyone who knew Laura knew she was an avid shopper and was always very fashionable. She had an extraordinary gift to take something plain and simple and make it beautiful. She was extremely proud of her son Zachary (Brei) and overjoyed to become a Grandmother to Grayson whom she adored. Laura's favorite bible vs was Isaiah 41:13 For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you do not fear, I will help you.
Laura stayed positive during moments of unknown and was the first person to remind those around her to stay positive of her outcome. Her faith was not only an example to her family and friends, but to anyone she came into contact with. She continued to be creative during her journey home to our Lord and Savior and drew many beautiful pictures. She love looking at rainbows and took them as a sign of God's never-ending love and protection over her.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved her and remembered as a kind and gentle person who was also a fighter for the Lord.
Laura is survived by her son Zachary (Brei) McCabe and Grandson Grayson McCabe, her father Leroy Ceroni, her Brothers Terry (Donna) Ceroni,
Steve (Michelle) Ceroni, Sisters Annette (Steve) Rouse, Mary Ceroni McKenzie, Lisa (Dave) Bernet, her Aunt Joyce Ceroni, Nieces and Nephews, Anthony Ceroni, Fionna (Jadie) Thingvold, Gena (Adam) Sweet, Joshua (Colleen) Ceroni, Kayla (Zach) Haynes, Kelsey (Tim) O'Haver, Kevin McKenzie, Timothy (Ericka) McKenzie, Jessica (Tom) Crocker, Megan (Bill) Carter, Lisa ( Brian) Grofe, Michael (Angel) Peil
She is proceeded by her Mother, Grandparents, Brother-in-law & Nephew, many Aunts and Uncles among many other family members.
The family wish to extend an special thank you to OSF Cancer Center of Rockford, IL, FHN Hospice of Freeport, IL and Presence St. Josephs Center of Freeport, IL
A memorial service will be held for immediate family at later date.
We love you Laura and we will meet again on the other side of the rainbow.
