Obituary

Larry Howard Puckett, 61, of Freeport, Illinois, died earlier this month at his home. Larry was a lifelong resident of Freeport. Born November 10, 1959, Larry graduated from Freeport Senior High School in 1977. Following graduation, Larry worked different jobs until he began working at Cannova's. It seemed he found his true calling there, serving the residents and visitors of Freeport. Larry lit up every room he entered; serving his tables was no different. He served his customers as if they were family. He loved laughter and having a good time, but he loved being the one to make others laugh and brighten their day even more.
Larry loved his pets and was a devoted pet owner. He often reminded relatives to add his "kids" to their Christmas lists. He was a cycling enthusiast, and an avid art and music lover. He loved his hometown of Freeport. Though he would sometimes visit other places, and was invited to live in other cities, he never seriously considered leaving Freeport.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Puckett, his mother, Shirley Ann (Koontz) Puckett Hall, and his brother, Randy Puckett  He is survived by his sister Tamara (Puckett) Dark, niece Melyssa (Dark) Kelly, brother Victor Puckett, and nephews Spenser and Hunter Dark.
A memorial service will be announced at a later time for those wishing to share memories of Larry. A memorial fund has been established in Larry's name. Those desiring to contribute may contact his sister, Tamara Dark, through Schwarz Funeral Home.
