Larry Richard Olthoff, 87, passed away at Stockton Allure nursing home on October 17, 2025. He was born to Richard and Margaret (Koch) Olthoff, June 15, 1938 in Stockton, IL.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany as a truck driver; after his service, he started working at Atwoods in Stockton, IL for 40 years. He loved to ride around Stockton with his dog, Handsome, and everyone knew him and his dog. He was member P0449 American Legion of Stockton.
While at Allure nursing home, he was proud to be crowned the Valentine "king for a day", and he kept that crown on all day!
He is survived by Barbara, sisters: Lorraine Wilhelms of Freeport, IL, Shirley Guffey of St. Louis, MO, and Karen Boyer of Ridott, IL; 5 nieces and 3 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane, brothers-in-law Ronald Boyer and Bill Guffey; and nephews Mike Boyer and Jeff Guffey.
The family would like to extend a big "thank you" to all the caregivers and staff at Allure & Unity Hospice, for his care these last 2 years.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 23, 2025 at 10 AM, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens "Chapel of Peace"
