Lana J. Davis - wife, mother, and friend passed away on August 22, 2023 at home in Freeport, IL with loved ones around her. She was born on July 29, 1942 in Belvidere, IL, to parents Robert and Doris R. (Shawvan) Bottcher. She attended Belvidere Schools. She married Jeffrey R. (Jeff) Davis on January 26, 1968 at the Church By The Side Of The Road in Rockton, IL.
She was easy to get along with and generous to those in need, especially children. She was a great cook, famous for extravagant holiday dinners and over the top Christmas tree and wall to wall decorations. She loved her flower garden which was never finished. She enjoyed her business of painting & wallpapering where customers became friends. She cherished her years at Grace Episcopal Church and St. Margaret's Guild where she made many friends. She enjoyed many years of family vacations to White Lake, Montello, WI. She & Jeff traveled to Europe twice, a cruise to the islands, Dominican Republic, Canada, and many other states. She loved wintering in Destin Florida right on the beach. She made a hole-in-one at Silver Ridge Golf Course..from the men's tee. After retiring she loved spending more time at the lake in Wis. She loved her husband Jeff and her children more than they could ever know.
Survivors include Jeff, her husband of 56 1/2 years, children: Curt (Corinne) Bender, Kim Pontnack, Jeffrey G (Angie) Davis, and Jennifer Davis; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Steve R. Bottcher, and sister-in-law Marilyn (Davis) Wagner.
Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday September 11, 2023 at 10 AM, at the Royal Pub & Grill, 306 N. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL.
Lana was a woman of grace & love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
