Kendrick Martel Baker, 35, of Freeport, IL, passed away on June 5, 2021. He was born on April 13, 1986 in Freeport, to Roosevelt Baker and Emma (Winston) Baker. He married Markesha Whitney on April 20, 2005 in Freeport. He worked at Swiss Colony and was a member of Freeport Church of Christ.

Survivors include his Mother Emma Baker, Wife Markesha Whitney, Son Kendrick Baker, Jr, Daughter Kendriona Baker, Brothers Roosevelt Baker, Jr and Kenneth Williamson, Sister Shenelle Keys, and Grandfather Julius Winston.

He was preceded in death by his Father Roosevelt Baker, Grandmother Lizzie Winston, Grandmother Jeffie Lacy, and Grandfather James Lacy.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 19, 2021 at 11 AM, at Philippians Baptist Church, 615 S. Chicago Ave in Freeport, IL, with Rev. Nathan Allison officiating. Friends may call at the church at 9 AM until time of service. Interment will be at Freeport City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
