Kelly Jo (Smith) Czernek, 51, of Glendale Heights, IL, passed away at home on Tuesday November 22, 2022, surrounded by her family. Kelly was taken from us too early, due to cancer. She was born on November 17, 1971 in Chicago, IL, to Sharon (Newman) and Wayne M. Smith of Freeport, IL. Kelly married her high school sweetheart, Michael Czernek, on April 22, 1993 in Wheaton, IL. They were blessed with two sons, Michael Jr in 1996 and Matthew in 1997. Her boys are her proudest accomplishments! Kelly was a loving wife and mother, and she worked to help her husband Mike run his HVAC business. She loved animals, and her family with her whole heart! She was a member of Real Life Church in West Chicago, with Pastor Robert Rosado.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Czernek of Glendale Heights, sons Michael Czernek, Jr, and Matthew Czernek; her parents, Sharon (Newman) Smith and Wayne M. Smith of Freeport, IL, brothers Chris and Matt, sister Georgia Grace Smith, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Geneva (Weiskircher) Newman, and Glen and Ruth (Pulfrey) Smith.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 10:30 am, at First Baptist Church, 431 West Empire, Freeport, IL, with Olivia Martinez officiating. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Warren, IL.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
