Kathleen T. Johnson, age 73 of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at her home in Rockford. She was born November 3, 1951, to Stanley and Agnes (Norton) Coon in Freeport, IL. She graduated from Park Ridge High School in 1968. Kathy married Tony Blum in Rockford in 1973. They had a daughter together, Jessica Jean Blum.

She worked in Purchasing at various companies in Rockford until she retired in 2017. She also enjoyed line dancing with her friends, shopping and going to Krape Park, where they would have annual family gatherings. She loved her pet cats and always spoiled them. She enjoyed wonderful trips with her daughter to various tourist locations, such as the Italian Alps and New England and wonderful trips to Chicago for shopping and plays. Most of all she loved being at home snuggling up on the couch and watching TV with her animals.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Jon Knowles) Blum of Rockford; brother, Jerry (Connie) Coon of Rockford, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; Jeanne Toepher, Leatrice 'Sue' Bowers, Margret Crossno, Patricia Antczak; brothers, James Shamway, Ronnie 'Elvie' Hall, Thomas Coon, Jon Coon. The line dancing community in Rockford always held a special place in her heart.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025 at 11 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport. Friends may call at the church at 10 AM until time of service. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held afterwards at the Schwarz Park Blvd chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport.
